11 reasons to buy a smartwatch
Notices
In our opinion, notifications are the main reason to buy a smartwatch . The ease of sending from your wrist and being able to assess the importance of what you've received without taking your phone out of your pocket or bag is invaluable. It simplifies your life and saves time - and time is important.
Social etiquette
Checking your phone can be rough. A quick glance at the wrist is faster, simpler and more subtle.
Internet of Things
You can control the volume of an audio system with a few taps of your wrist, and I can also turn the lights on and off. Again, it's faster and easier than using a phone, and the Internet of Things and Smart Home technology are yet to develop.
Travel
A smart watch can be used to go through airport security by displaying the boarding pass directly on the watch screen. Anything that makes the airport security process easier is helpful.
Answering calls
Different smartwatches handle answering calls differently. Some, for example, allow users to accept and reject calls on the watch, but activate the phone's speaker and microphone (or headphones if they're on) for the call. This is useful when walking around with headphones or while driving when your smartphone is not easily accessible.
Others allow users to answer and make calls directly from the watch (the phone can stay in your bag). It's not the ideal way to answer every call, but it's useful for quick calls when you can't reach your cell phone.
Fitness
All smartwatches are capable of counting steps, and most will work with fitness apps like Endomondo and Strava. The benefit of smartwatches is that they connect users to other useful features.
Music
You can walk around the city and listen to music from the phone in your pocket, if a song comes on that you don't like, just press "next" on your smartwatch. You can also pause, adjust the volume, or queue up the next track. It sounds trivial, but it really makes listening to music easier.
Battery life
One of the biggest drains on your mobile phone's battery life is that large, high-resolution display - as a smartwatch reduces screen time, it can have a significant impact on battery life.
And before you wonder if connecting to a smartwatch all day drains the battery - most use efficient Bluetooth 4.0, which doesn't waste battery at all
Personalization
Being able to change your watch face every day is surprisingly fun, on the weekends I can walk around with a dancing Mickey Mouse on my wrist, but on Monday mornings at the office I can wear a more professional watch.
Security
Have you ever been in a bad area at night and were afraid to take out your BGN 2000 smartphone? Fortunately, the smartwatch is much more discreet
Navigation
And finally we come to navigation - getting around an unfamiliar city is much easier with a smart watch. Directions are sent to your wrist telling you when and where to move next.
Of course, the main argument against smartwatches is that they just do everything a smartphone can do, which is true, but they're not meant to replace your phone, they're meant to complement it and make your life a little easier.
