5 new and exciting smart technologies
Tech enthusiasts and futurists make predictions about possible future technological devices all the time. Sometimes their speculations come true, sometimes they're wrong, but one thing's for sure: there will always be something cool to look forward to in the tech world. The communications, entertainment, and healthcare industries, for example, are experiencing a steady wave of growth in terms of technological innovation, and that wave doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
The IoT movement is sweeping the tech world and with it comes new, cool devices. Software engineers, app developers, and tech startups are all set to do all sorts of new experiments for an eventual IoT update.
5G smart devices
The world is smoothly transitioning to 5G from 4G technology. 5G is a faster and less energy intensive network compared to 4G. But what does the rollout of 5G mean for future tech devices?
Our smartphones will be faster at loading apps and websites.
We will have more and more efficient smart home devices . This means lightning-fast execution of voice commands for various smart home devices.
More durable and efficient wearables. Sensors built into smartwatches, for example, will collaborate more seamlessly.
Transforming homes
MIT engineers have designed a micro-apartment that can transform into anything a user wants it to be, from a home office, kitchen, living room, home gym to sleeping area. The 15-by-15-foot apartment is called the CityHome. Transformations are accomplished through wall-mounted smart devices that are designed to receive and execute commands.
You can also program the space in such a way that when you get out of bed, the room turns into an entertainment room, for example. In this case, the bed is raised into the ceiling to free up floor space, it is cleaned, a TV wall comes out, the lights are changed and everything becomes a stage for entertainment.
Foldable computer
These computers will also be able to transform into a traditional laptop look thanks to the mini keyboard that comes with the computer. The keyboard folds seamlessly into the computer.
Significantly better voice translators
Travelers already use the pocket voice translator, which offers fast translations during real-time conversations. Foreigners speak directly to the translator in the language they know best and the translator immediately translates the message into the local language. We can predict that going forward, no conversation will ever be lost in translation.
Self-driving cars
Autonomous cars are already on the streets, but the best of autonomous driving is far from being realized. Future autonomous vehicles will be truly driverless—they will be able to change lanes, navigate intersections, and take turns on their own. They'll also start and stop without human intervention, though that doesn't mean they won't require human supervision. There will likely be hundreds of millions of self-driving cars on our roads by 2030.
Conclusion
Future technologies will include various tools to create more efficient, pocket-sized devices. Everything from cameras, watches, clocks, lighting systems and more will be controlled from the pocket. Welcome to the connected world!
