Description |
This product has been customized for use throughout Europe, excluding the United Kingdom and Ireland. What is he doing? The DGS-1005D (Green Ethernet version) is a 5-port unmanaged Gigabit switch that consumes less power than conventional switches with the same specification. This switch reacts when the device connected to it is turned off by putting the corresponding port into a standby mode that requires less power. Additionally, the switch is able to determine the length of the Ethernet cable and adjust power usage accordingly, saving excess power that would otherwise be dissipated as heat. Combining these two features can save up to 27% of the power used by the switch (the figure is based on a scenario where computers are assumed to be used 10 hours a day, turned off 14 hours a day, and connected to the switch using on 20-meter cables). This function allows to adjust the data flow between the switch and the server to ensure reliable data transfer. At 2000 Mbps, the full-duplex switch provides high-speed data pipes to your servers with minimal data loss. All ports support automatic MDI/MDIX cross over negotiation. This eliminates the need for crossover cables or uplink ports. Each port can simply plug into a server, hub, or switch using the usual straight-through twisted-pair cable. |

Energy saving features
This switch reacts when the device connected to it is turned off by putting the corresponding port into a standby mode that requires less power. Additionally, the switch can sense the length of the Ethernet cable and adjust power usage accordingly, saving excess power that would otherwise be dissipated as heat. Combining these two features can save up to 27% of the power used by the switch (the figure is based on a scenario where computers are assumed to be in use 10 hours a day, off 14 hours a day, and connected to the switch 20 -meter cables).

IEEE 802.3x Flow Control
This function allows to adjust the data flow between the switch and the server to ensure reliable data transfer. At 2000 Mbps, the full-duplex switch provides high-speed data pipes to your servers with minimal data loss.

Automatic reconciliation of MDI/MDIX Cross Over
All ports support automatic MDI/MDIX Cross Over negotiation. This eliminates the need for crossover cables or uplink ports. Each port can simply plug into a server, hub, or switch using the usual straight-through twisted-pair cable.
