Description |
The DGS-1210 Series Gigabit Smart Managed Switches with Fiber Uplinks design is the latest generation of D-Link smart managed switches that feature high port density and optional PoE support. With D-Link Green 3.0 technology, the series offers a high level of energy saving and efficiency, as well as compliance with the IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet standard. |

-
Energy saving
The DGS-1210 switch is capable of saving energy without sacrificing operational performance or functionality by utilizing D-Link Green 3.0 technology. Using the Energy Efficient Ethernet standard, the network will automatically reduce power usage when traffic is low, with no setup required. For environments that do not fully support the standard, the DGS-1210 switch offers advanced power-saving settings, including port shutdown and standby mode, LED shutdown, and system hibernation based on custom scheduling profiles. Profiles can also be applied to the PoE switch so that there is no unnecessary power consumption during non-working hours. The DGS-1210 series switch can also detect the length of connected cables to automatically reduce power consumption with shorter cable connections.
-
Automatic Monitoring VLAN and Voice VLAN
The process of setting up IP surveillance and VoIP on the network is automated with the D-Link Smart Switch. Automatic Surveillance VLAN (ASV) consolidates the transmission of data and surveillance video across the network, saving enterprises the cost of maintaining dedicated facilities. ASV also protects real-time video quality by grouping IP surveillance devices into a single high-priority VLAN. This ensures that surveillance video streams are not affected when normal data traffic is at its peak. Similarly, automatic voice VLAN ensures clear sound quality and efficient transmission for all voice communications.
-
Exclusive layer 2 features
Equipped with a full set of Layer 2 features, the DGS-1210 series switch includes IGMP Snooping, Port Mirroring, Spanning Tree and Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP). The IEEE 802.3x flow control feature allows servers to connect directly to the switch for fast and reliable data transfer. At 2000 Mbps full duplex, gigabit ports provide high-speed data channels to servers with minimal data loss. Network support features include loopback detection and cable diagnostics. Loopback detection is used to detect loops created by a specific port and automatically shut down the affected port. The cable diagnostic function is primarily intended for administrators and customer service representatives and can quickly detect the type of error and determine the quality of the cable.

Protect your network
D-Link's security mechanism protects the switch from flooding traffic caused by virus attacks. The switch also supports port-based 802.1x authentication, which allows network clients to be authenticated through external RADIUS servers. In addition, the Access Control List (ACL) feature enhances network security and protects it by filtering traffic from illegal MAC or IP addresses. Preventing ARP spoofing prevents malicious attackers from sending mass spoofed ARP messages through a manipulated source. This protects important data from being stolen by man-in-the-middle attacks and prevents CPU cycles from being wasted on these packets. For added security, the DHCP server screening feature blocks rogue DHCP server packets from user ports to prevent unauthorized IP address assignment.
